Why Courts Matter - Pennsylvania is a non-partisan advocacy project seeking to protect the independence of our state and federal courts, and educate the electorate about their importance. In 2024, NPPEF proudly assumed the Why Courts Matter - PA campaign, once housed by the Keystone Research Center for nearly a decade.

Building on years of advocacy, coalition-building, and public engagement, Why Courts Matter – PA continues to make the courts more accessible, relevant, and understandable for everyday Pennsylvanians through interactive presentations, webinars, town halls, candidate forums, and community conversations.

Voting Rights
Speaking Tours

In 2026, founding CEO Kadida Kenner is visiting communities across Pennsylvania with a voting rights speaking tour called the As Long As We Have The Vote, We Have Hope Speaking Tour.

Knowledge is power. The focus of these presentations is to uplift the rights and freedoms Pennsylvanians currently have, a history of voting rights in America, what’s at stake, and how we can advocate for our freedom to vote, together.

Why Courts Matter
Road Show

In 2025, NPPEF founding CEO Kadida Kenner toured the Commonwealth for the “Why Courts Matter Road Show”. She travelled to schools and community organizations to offer education about the Pennsylvania courts, and the importance of participating in the judicial retention election on November 4, 2025.

Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV)

In 2025 and 2026, NPPEF led non-partisan Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) door-knocking programs across parts of our five regions, including: Western PA (Allegheny, Beaver, Lawrence, Erie), Capital, Collar counties (Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, Delaware), Lehigh Valley/NEPA, and Philadelphia. We knocked on more than 20,000 doors, with a goal to mobilize our communities on Election Day (and before if voting by mail).
